First Knitted Project of the Year: Fingerless Gloves

FingerlessGloves5

In the past week, I re-learned how to purl and made these fingerless gloves. They took me three days to complete, and I only worked on them in the evenings while we watched television. I forgot how calming knitting can be, and I’ve reignited my love.

I learned how to make these gloves through a video workshop on Creative Bug. If you want to learn how to knit, I highly recommend the workshops on this site {they are so easy to follow, because they teach you step by step via video}…and they have tons of other workshops like embroidery, sewing and mixed media workshops. The instructor videos are incredibly inspiring. I’ve watched them all twice. And, I’m soooooo glad I signed up for a membership. It’s completely worth it.

Thanks Sage! You should…I’ve had such a great experience so far.

Great job April! I’ve never heard of Creative Bug before, so I’ll be checking that out. Have you heard of Craftsy? It is very similar to creative bug, and you might like it.

Thanks Lisa! I recently stumbled upon Craftsy. My sister-in-law pointed me in their direction. So far, I think I like Creative Bug a little better–but that’s a personal preference. :)

Very cute! I don’t know how to knit, but I love crochet! I’ve been doing lots of crochet projects lately (some of them are on my blog at http://www.reneweduponadream.com) I also love Craftsy, so many great patterns are there. I’ve never heard of Creative Bug though, I’ll check it out!

I think crochet is harder…especially crocheting into the chain. I still haven’t mastered that even though I’ve been attempting it over and over.

I’ve always wanted to learn how to knit or crochet! My boss made me the most adorable hat and scarf set for Christmas last year and this year she knitted me a cowl that I just love. But between scrapbooking and sewing (of which I’m an avid “doer” of both!), I don’t think I really need another craft to do! LOL! LOVE the gloves. Those are super cute! I will check out Creative Bug though…could use some sewing tutorials for sure! :)

Thanks Dana! I’m the type of person who likes to do many different types of crafts. I don’t like having to choose just one or two, so Creative Bug is an awesome resource for me. I sometimes wish I could pick my favorites and just stick with them, but I can’t.

Thanks Adriana! It’s great to “see” you–I think about you practically every day when I walk by your painting of Kaya!

I’m working on finishing the knitted clutch I posted about…and then, it’s onto a knitted pillow for our living room.
