Do you ever find yourself staring at a blank canvas feeling uninspired? Do you ever sit down to write and find yourself with a lack of ideas? Many creative people have the problem of too many ideas, but every once in while, creatives get blocked. It’s as if their imagination and creativity decided to go on vacation.
So, I put together a video outlining four simple steps to break through a creative block: (1) Stay calm. (2) Take a break. (3) Work on another project. (4) Return to your current project. Check out the video for more details:

I love your videos April! You are really an inspiration for me because I’m so panicked about making a video for heartmade… hahahaha. I think I would freeze or something. Which is so weird because I am really out there + out spoken, but I’m terrified of cameras. I have a lot to learn from you girl because you do it so well. And your topics are always so relevant + useful for me 🙂
Thanks Mayi! It was really intimidating at first, but I just forced myself to do it a couple times. The more videos I make, the easier they are and the less nervous I am. Now, I really enjoy making videos for my blog. To be completely honest, it’s so much easier to record a short video than it is to write a blog post–and I type really fast. Plus, I think it’s better for the viewer, especially when we want to explain an art exercise or technique.
