I’m looking for people who’ve got drive, passion, and personality.
Here’s the deal: I’m putting together a membership site for creative entrepreneurs that’s gonna rock your socks. But, the truth is that I’m only one person, and my goals for this membership site can’t be accomplished by just one person.
That’s why I’m looking to add people to my team.
Are you the right fit for one of these positions?
Rock Star Reporter
Without giving away too many details, this membership site is going to be filled with interviews, classes, worksheets, and more. I’m looking for someone who’s ready to take her creative business to the next level—and is willing to share her story.
Say what? The rock star reporter will get free access {$97 per month value} to the membership site in exchange for writing or video blogging about her experience. She’ll write two blog posts per month about her experiences of building her creative business and they’ll be published on Blacksburg Belle.
You’d be the behind the scenes reporter who talks about the topics we cover, how you’re applying the info to your business, what works for you/doesn’t work for you, questions, struggles, and successes. This is for someone who is fully committed to her creative business and making it a success.
Benefits:
Free access to the membership site—which means all the goodness of the classes, interviews, worksheets and more + unlimited email access to me to ask any biz-related questions. Plus, you get lots of exposure for your creative business—because all my readers will be reading your posts.
How to Apply:
If you’re interested in this position, please email me at blacksburgbelle {at} gmail {dot} com, telling me why you’d be the right person for the job. Include links to your blog, website, online shop, Twitter profile, and business Facebook page.
Book Club Babes
It’s no secret that I’ve learned a lot about building a successful creative business through reading. Daily reading is high up on my priority list—and I think it should be a part of all creative entrepreneurs’ routines.
I want the membership site to have an added bonus: a book club. And, I’m looking for two book club babes to lead the book club discussions.
This position entails reading one book every two months {6 books a year}, writing about your thoughts weekly, and providing ideas on how the concepts can be applied to your creative business and other creative businesses. I’ll be reading along with you, putting together actionable worksheets that’ll coincide with the books, and participating in the discussion—but I’m looking for 2 people to really lead the way.
Benefits:
Free access to the membership site {$97 per month value}—which means all the goodness of the classes, interviews, worksheets and more. Six free books each year—because I’m going to mail them to you. You won’t have to spend a dime. Plus, you’ll learn a lot just from reading these books! Perfect for a book lover.
How to Apply:
If you’re interested in one of the two spots, please email me at blacksburgbelle {at} gmail {dot} com, telling me why you’d be the right person for the job. Include links to your blog, website, online shop, Twitter profile, and business Facebook page.
Professional Photographer with Product Photography Expertise {Paid Position}
I’m not a professional photographer—but I know that having great photographs is half the battle when you want to sell creative products.
So, I’m looking for a professional photographer who knows the ins and outs of product photography to join this team.
Email me at blacksburgbelle {at} gmail {dot} com for details about the position and the pay rate.
This is awesome, April! Do you have a deadline for sending in applications?
I probably should have included a deadline now that I think about it 🙂
I’ll probably make my decisions next weekend {3/12-3/13} and announce the team that Monday, 3/14–so if you’re interested, get it in by the end of next week. Thanks for asking!
Oh wow…the Rock Star Reporter sounds quite intriguing! My passion for what I do and for the handmade community often times causes me to get a little carried away talking about my creative journey. I get all energized talking about and learning about ways to grow my biz authentically. To be able to share this process with a “captive audience” who ACTUALLY don’t mind my enthusiastic ramblings sounds right up my alley!
I was wondering if this would be an on-going position or if the reporter changes periodically, ie. monthly, quarterly, etc.
Thanks in advance!
warmly,
Tania Welch

Hey Tania,
The reporter will be the same {unless something comes up–you never know what life throws at you!} for a year–and then I’m not sure. This is completely new–so we’d work together to figure it out. But, after a year, the person would definitely have free lifetime access to the membership site 🙂
Thanks April!
I love the idea of a book club!
I’ll be emailing you!
Wonderful idea April! Really enjoying your goodies so far! Looking forward to what’s coming up next 😉
These sound like great ideas, April! It is a good idea to get others involved and to share what we learn from your worksheets and posts. It definitely adds weight to the lessons and demonstrates that we might be able to achieve similar success.
Sounds exciting!!! I just e-mailed you re: the Book Club Babe position.
woohoo!! I just applied for the book babes position! This is so exciting!
This is a very interesting opportunity.. I sent you email for the book club babes position, I really hope that I am qualified, I would be awesome to learn together with someone I admire 😀
This sounds an amazing, exciting opportunity and I’m composing an email right now!
I’m not sure I’d fit anyone’s image of a Rock Star Reporter but what an amazing job title to have 🙂
