You know what I love to see/read the most on other peoples’ blogs? Stuff about their everyday life. So, I’m adding yet another column to Blacksburg Belle: This Week at the Olin Headquarters. I’ll share photos and excerpts from the week.
Can’t you tell that I’m seriously annoyed with the camera in the my face? Just leave me alone already:
I get a little too excited over tiny things like new straws…but, pretty straws are my new obsession. They add some fun to snack time.
These two packages arrived on the same day, and it felt like Christmas had come early.
I wanted to show you the inside of my Birch Box this month in case you were thinking about signing up but wanted an inside look. I still can’t believe I get this much stuff for $10. I look forward to it every month and I haven’t been disappointed yet. {If you use my link to sign up, I get points.} This month’s box included: a full size lip gloss {that costs $16 regularly}, a Juice Beauty stem cellular repair cream sample, a pretty large size shampoo sample, a perfume sample, a cologne sample {going in my husband’s stocking!}, eye gels {normally $29.50}, and a $50 gift card towards a clothing rental {I’m actually REALLY excited about this one}. And, I paid $10. Yes and yes.
One of my DIY art journals:
You can take my picture anytime. I loooooove the camera:
Those straws are adorable! I like cute, little doses of happiness.
What are your dogs’ names?
The white one is Max {I picked his name}. The black and tan one is Dubbya {Named after the president, because he was a little slow. My husband picked his name} And, the mom of the boys–the black one with the white chest–is Kaya. We didn’t name Kaya. That was her name when we adopted her, and we adopted her not knowing that she was pregnant. She had the two puppies {along with five others} who are now much bigger than her the day before our wedding.
My dog and two cats know when I’m trying to take a photo – and they decide they suddenly have to walk around a lot or turn their head all the time to look at stuff. They were being perfectly adorable (and still) for the last four hours, but now I want to take a photo….. When I do get a photo that isn’t up a dogs nostril or the back of the cats head, they are great photos and I treasure them so much. Definitely think I will be taking more photos next year. Of our furry angels, of my artwork, of nature around my house. I want to start adding them to my art journals.
Hey Coral! I’ve been making much more of an attempt to take pictures of everyday life. That’s really why I started this column. I knew it would give me a reason to take more pictures, and I use them in my art journals which is a lot of fun. By the end of next year, I’d like to make a book of the everyday photos I take during 2013.
P.S. I just took a bunch of photos of my mother-in-law’s dogs. She has two border collies and I’m using them for something special for Christmas–can’t say what because she might read this. Anyways, my husband had to feed them a cookie to make them sit for the camera. They HATE having their picture taken and they run from the camera.
