I’ve always wanted to try printing something with fruit, so when I ran across a pack of four flour sack tea towels at Target for less than $5, I decided to try it out. And, I’m hooked. Now, I want to make my own stamps and stencils and so much more.

Supplies: tea towels, fabric paint, paintbrushes, fruit {I used a pear and apple}

Directions:

1. Iron the tea towels.

2. Cut the fruit in half and decide which half looks best for printing. I tried both halves and picked the ones I liked the most.

3. Paint the fruit and stamp onto the tea towel. {I like the effect of stamping the fruit a few times before adding more paint, because I like different shades of color.}

4. Allow the paint to dry overnight. Wash and use! These also make wonderful gifts.

    Loving your DIYs. They don’t need lots of expensive materials to make them or mad skills to be able to pull them off.

      Thanks! My favorites are the ones that don’t cost much. I love turning inexpensive items into something more personal and beautiful.

    LOVE this! If I weren’t living out of a backpack right now, I would be all over this. I really enjoy the fact your stuff is simple yet really imaginative. I’m bookmarking it all for when I get back to the UK 🙂

      I used Martha Stewart paint that can be used on fabric. I would suggest checking the label to make sure that it works with fabric. 🙂
