I want to feature YOU! Want to introduce yourself to this community?

- April 5, 2013 | by April -

Headshot11

The purpose of Blacksburg Belle is to help creative entrepreneurs create the businesses and lives they crave. My weekly videos are focused on giving you the tools to succeed and many of my daily posts revolve around providing inspiration for healthy and happy living.

I’m constantly brainstorming ways I can use this site to help talented creatives build their dream businesses, and that’s where this post comes in. I want to start featuring YOU on a regular basis. The community here is amazingly supportive, and I would love to introduce everyone to you!

Want to spread the word about what you’re up to? I want to help!

And, I don’t know about you, but I love reading about other creative businesses. That’s why Where Women Create is my favorite magazine. It’s so inspiring and encouraging to read those stories, isn’t it?

There are three different ways you can share your story and your business with us:

1. Let me interview you.

Share your story through interview questions and answers. I’ll send you a list of 15 questions and you send the answers back to me with some photos to include with your answers. Easy, right?

2. Give us a peek into your workspace.

I’m obsessed with seeing where creatives create. If you’d like to give us a glimpse into your space, I’ll need five to ten pictures {some of details and some of walls/entire area} as well as 250 to 500 words about your workspace.

3. Share your creative process.

When I’m buying a handmade necklace or screen printed dishcloths, I enjoy seeing the process that went into making it. Don’t you? It gives me so much more appreciation for the creation. For this, I’d need three to ten photos that take us from conception to finished product along with 250 to 800 words about the evolution.

With all three of these options, I’ll link to your shop and website, so you’ll hopefully receive lots of new traffic!

If you’d like to submit an “application,” here’s what you do:

Send an email to blacksburgbelle@gmail.com with the subject line, Feature On Blacksburg Belle. In the email, please tell me which option you’re interested in {interview, workspace, creative process} and a little bit about yourself {a paragraph or two will do!}. Link to your shop, blog, and/or website and attach two to three pictures of your work/self/studio to give me an idea of the quality of your photos.

The pictures that will be included in the post MUST be high-quality to match the standards of Blacksburg Belle. The main reason for rejection will be lack of high-quality pictures.

I can’t wait to help you spread your story! Have questions? Ask below.

I am so sorry I haven’t got to you but my mum has been really poorly, fainted on me and I had to call paramedics! I have been staying in my parents home looking after them all week. I hope to get to this next week, but now wonder if you’re just inundated and if it’s too late?

        Thanks April

I’m a coach that focuses on helping creatives balance their health, creativity, and business, so one part doesn’t overshadow the rest. Would that be anything of interest, or are you primarily interested in the creators themselves? πŸ™‚
