Interruption from Regularly Scheduled Programming: It’s Giveaway Time!

- April 24, 2013 | by April -

etsy-pro-alt

I’m in need of some fun.

If you are too, then I have a little something up my bright pink sleeve today.

Instead of the normal weekly video {don’t pout–it’ll be back next week}, I’ve got a giveaway that I’m super excited about. Stephanie from Fairground Media contacted me about a plugin she created that you’re gonna love. Well, you’re gonna love it if you have an Etsy shop and a WordPress site. It’s called Etsy Pro, and I think it’s pretty dag on cool.

It’s the first one I’ve seen that easily embeds your Etsy shop onto your WordPress site and allows shoppers on your site to look at individual products {in a very attractive way} without directing them to your actual Etsy shop until it’s time for the sale. And, seriously, you do NOT need to be super tech-savvy for this one. You can set it up in under 5 minutes. Don’t believe me? Scroll down to the video on this page and watch.

Why is this a big deal?

Shoppers get EASILY distracted by all the shiny buttons on Etsy and before they know it, they’ve clicked off of your handmade body scrub and are now shopping for ceramics. If you can keep people on your site longer, you’ll get closer to landing that sale. That’s why this plugin rules. {I don’t think I’ve said “rules” in that context since middle school. NERD alert.}

I haven’t been able to try it out personally because I don’t have an active Etsy site, but Stephanie did point me to Elle and Bean who are using it. {Check it out! It looks great!} You can also see the live demo here.

If you’re thinking, I want THAT {and you have an Etsy shop and WordPress blog/site}, simply tell us what your Etsy shop is all about in one to two sentences in the comments below and you’ll be entered. Make sure you use your correct email address when leaving your comment, so Stephanie and I can get you the plugin if you’re chosen.

You’ve got until Sunday {yes, this Sunday!} at 9pm EST to leave your comment and I’ll announce the winner on Monday.

And, if you don’t want to wait to see if you win because you want to add it to your site like TODAY, then Stephanie will happily refund your money if you’re chosen as the giveaway winner.

Update: The randomly-chosen winner of the plugin giveaway is CELINE! Congrats Celine.

    Oh – I love it! Got to have it! What a fantastic getaway. My shop is called Dainty Daffodil (http://www.etsy.com/shop/daintydaffodilshop). I sell super sweet custom baby blankets made. I have some pre-made blankets available, but primarily do custom blankets so they match baby’s nursery. I’m also starting to create my very own fabric which will also be added to the shop soon!

    I have two etsy sites: Kate and Moose and Ruivo Armadillo. Both are jewelry sites where one specializes in custom Scrabble pendants and the other in paper and pearl. Color is a strong theme thru both and I would LOVE this plug-in as the biggest part of my .com that isn’t done is my SHOP.

    Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!! I was literally just filling out the website worksheet for B-School earlier this week and on my wishlist I had a way to seemlessly embed Etsy onto my WordPress blog. You ladies READ MY MIND! I thought it was just a dream! SO excited!! πŸ™‚ *happy dance*

    Well, my business is not technically up and running yet but I DO technically have an Etsy shop and WordPress blog…just not really active yet. My business is called HTiques, which is the address for both the Etsy and WordPress blogs as well. Short and sweet, I find fun and beautiful vintage/retro items and either find someone to re-love them as is or I personally re-vive them (a.k.a. up-cycle unwanted items or items that need some love) and find a new home for them in their revamped or re-inspired awesomeness.

      I just checked out your blog and geez, that tagline cracked me right up. πŸ™‚ My husband and I are actually hoping to do the same thing as you are now– work up the money to both take a good chunk of time “off.” It’s an amazing feeling to even be earning up that option right now, so I’m glad you’re out there inspiring others to go for it too.

      Anyways, I’m so happy my plugin could make your life that much easier! πŸ™‚ Would you mind if I quoted you as a testimonial?
