One of my superpowers happens to be digging around a business, pointing out what’s working and what isn’t, what changes you need to make and what you need to prioritize. I’m also a pretty great cheerleader (probably since I was one in high school) and know when to push someone, so that they do the work that will change their lives.

You’re scared of sounding too salesy. You’re afraid that your copy is waaaaaaay too boring, making it seem like you left your personality in bed that day. You’re afraid that you’re never going to figure out what makes you different or unique.

But, what you’re really terrified of is that this business you’re pouring your heart and soul into will end up flopping. That the $1500 you made over the course of last year is a sign that you’ll never even reach five figures, let alone six. But, you’ve got big dreams that involve hiring someone to do your photography and web design and adding a virtual assistant as a team member. You dream of working eight hours most days, while taking off Saturday to read a book and drink a glass of chardonnay at noon, knowing that sales are still coming in.

I used to work 12 to 16 hour days. I used to work alone, doing everything myself.

But, now I’m living the dream.

I wake up when my body decides it’s morning. I work out with my personal trainer. I check in with my virtual assistant. I take off an hour and a half to make and eat lunch with my husband. I work on the things that make my heart flutter: writing, watercolor, and teaching.

I want to help you do the same.

I haven’t offered one-on-one consulting sessions in over a year and a half and I won’t do it again for another year (or longer). But, I’ve been getting a lot of requests for more personalized help due to the start of my CreativeLive course, Double Your Followers with Creative Marketing.

Unfortunately, I can’t provide individual help for free or else I’d never leave my computer or make money. And, that’s not a great business plan.

Instead of telling you that I can’t help at all, I’ve decided to open up a limited number of consulting sessions for those of you who truly want some one-on-one attention.

What does a business transformation package include?

1. When you input your payment information, close your eyes and count to ten, and hit the buy button, I’ll get a notification that you’ve claimed one of the one-on-one spots.

2. I’ll do a happy dance and email you an initial questionnaire. You’ll fill it out, send it back to me, and I’ll research your business before we even speak.

3. We’ll set up an initial consulting session where we dig into all of your business on a Skype call or Google Hangout (both are free). This initial session can last up to two hours (and often, it does!).

4. After that session, you’ll have a plan. You’ll know what you need to be working on and I’ll even give you homework assignments.

5. Then, we’ll set up a time for us to talk every week for the next seven weeks (so that we’re working together closely for two months). These will be our check-ins where we chat for 15-30 minutes. I’ll see how things are going, what you’re struggling with and give you some advice for moving forward.

6. You’ll get homework assignments (as well as personal feedback on those homework assignments) throughout the two months of working together.

This is for you if:

  • You want a little bit more handholding.
  • You want advice from someone who’s been there and done that.
  • You want help from someone who’s built a successful business around her dream life.
  • You want advice on something really specific like getting speaking engagements or why your sales page isn’t converting.
  • You need a business buddy for a couple months. (Who doesn’t?)

This is NOT for you if:

  • You’re not open to trying out new things.
  • You want a miracle pill that will leads to hundreds of new sales. (Business is hard, my friend.)
  • You think you can do this on your own.
  • You don’t have the time to invest in business consulting.

There are two payment options.

You can either:

1) Pay in one lump sum and start your consulting anytime during or after the last week of October (I’ve got to have some time to dig through your business before we get started) or as late as mid-January.

2) Pay in three monthly payments and start your consulting in January, after at least two of your payments have been made.

This is your chance to work with me in a way that I’ve never offered before, but I think the weekly check-ins will make you more successful and productive. You’ll have an accountability partner cheering you on each week.

Each transformation package will be individually molded to the entrepreneur I’m working with—this is all about you and your business. Are we right for each other?

I know this isn’t Match.com, but it’s important that you work with the RIGHT person, and I’m not the perfect fit for everybody. It’s like Patron {tequila for those of you non-drinkers}. On it’s own it’s tolerable, but it’s much more delicious with salt and lime.

You can figure out whether or not we should work together by answering these six questions:

1. Do you want to work with someone who has a no-nonsense approach to business coaching?

I don’t tolerate excuses, and I won’t tell you that your cluttered website will amaze your target market when it’s screaming for a makeover. But, I’m not mean. I don’t bite, and I laugh a lot. Think bossy with heaps of compassion.

2. Are you ready for extreme change?

These transformation sessions are about colossal shifts—not the five things you need to do to attract more blog readers. If you’re looking for the one thing you need to fix to pad your wallet, I’m not your girl.

Maybe you know it’s time for a business revolution, but that sour goo in your stomach crawls up your throat every time you think about it. You’ve worked so hard on building your business, and now you’re not sure if it’s right. You’ve hit a fork in the road, and both paths are calling your name. You feel like you’ve tried everything, but it’s just not coming together like you’d hoped. Sound familiar? Then, I’m your girl.

3. Have you had the feeling that something is missing for a while now?

I have a gift for reading people—for getting in their heads and shaking things up. And, my bullsh*t detector is like a well-oiled Ferrari. That might be why I fell into practicing therapy before changing career paths.

5 Steps to Get Started on Periscope

Anytime I offer individual consulting, I receive questions. Here are the answers to the most common ones.

How long do I have to think about it?

I have eight openings. I’m not scheduling more than that, because I have to be on my A-game for the people who sign up. I give my full concentration to who I’m working with, and that doesn’t work when I have multiple sessions close together.

I have no idea how fast those spots will fill up. It could be hours {although, I think it’ll take longer than that because this is a lot of information}, it could be days, it could be weeks.

I don’t have the time/money/courage right now. When will you offer transformation sessions again?

Not for at least one year.

And, you’ll never feel “really ready.” Business transformations require giant leaps. Ready to leap with me holding your hand?

What’s Skype? Do I have to pay money to use it?

Skype is super cool software that allows people who live in different areas of the world to chat as if they’re in person together. If you have a web cam, we’ll be able to see each other. The best part is that it’s FREE, and it’s user-friendly.

What are my payment options?

Credit card, PayPal or pony rides.

Do you offer a payment plan?

You can pay in three monthly payments if that’s more comfortable for you but we won’t begin working together until January (which is kinda cool if you need more time to get things together before we start digging into your business).

Is this really worth $795?

Fair question that deserves an honest answer. I wouldn’t price it at $795 if I didn’t believe that it was worth much more than that. I believe in over-delivering. If you break it down, the time we spend together is going to be about five hours. That’s about $159/hour, but that doesn’t include any of the time that I spend studying your business and answers before the initial session and in between each week when we talk. {I take individual consulting very seriously and will spend at least two hours studying your business before we ever chat.}

What’s it worth to you to get objective feedback on your business from someone who’s been there, has a background in psychology, and loves Gilmore Girls?

How do I justify this to my partner/spouse?

You might be all in—ready to hand over every credit card in your wallet, but if your spouse doesn’t agree, it could be a no-go, right? I always talk over big purchases with my husband, and if he’s not in, I’m not, either.

Most of the time, spouses don’t agree because they don’t get it or they don’t believe it’s worth it. I already broke down the money above, so you can do the same for your partner.

So now the money makes sense, but if your spouse has never heard of me, he’s probably still going to hesitate. Clue him in on my qualifications: I have a Master’s Degree from NYU, I spoke at the Etsy Success Symposium—actually, I had two presentations because they loved both of my ideas. I’ve taught four CreativeLive courses. I was featured in U.S. News and World Report, because I’ve built a successful business, and my site was listed as a top 25 inspirational and educational blog in Where Women Create.

Also, sit down with your spouse, and explain why you want to do this and why you think it will help your business. You’ll come to the right decision for your family. And, if a business transformation is not the right choice, that’s okay.

When will my individual consulting sessions happen?

We’ll pick dates and times that work for both of us dependent on which payment option you choose. We’ll either start within the next few weeks or in January. If you pay in one big chunk but want more time before we start working together, you can postpone until the end of January. Basically, what works best for you, works best for me.
