Your color’s complement refers to its direct opposite on the color wheel. Knowing this color is important for a number of reasons.

A complementary color will cancel out your color to give black if you mix them. However, it gives the best contrast with your main color. This makes your color look better when paired with a complement than if used alone.

Window Pane’s complementary color is Sherwin Williams Lite Lavender.

Experts group coordinating colors into five different types, each working well in both living and work spaces.

  1. Analogous Coordinating Colors: These guys sit side-by-side with each other on the color wheel. You will get a soft gradient effect from using these colors together.
  2. Triadic Coordinating Colors: These colors occupy positions that form a triangle on the color wheel when linked. They give the most vibrant look of all the color schemes.
  3. Complementary Coordinating Colors: Just like complementary colors, they sit on opposites of each other on the color wheel. This color scheme gives the best contrast for your space.
  4. Split Complementary Coordinating Colors: This color scheme contains one complement and two analogous colors. It gives a nice contrast and has more versatility than the complementary color scheme.
